But really Lenny did my hair so nicely that I wanted to take a picture of it. We were in a bar in Howth (which is one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of smoked salmon, my favorite food), and the light was bright in the window behind me which is why there’s such a hipster lens-flare behind me. I SWEAR I’M NOT THAT MUCH OF A HIPSTER I PROMISE [/ineffectual whining]

After Monasterboice, Kilmainham Gaol was my favorite place to visit on our trip. Well, I say favorite … it was actually rather depressing, being a jail, but it was also so rich in history that it was fascinating.

This is the newer block of cells, built in the 1800s - the rest of the jail was built before, in the 1700s. Apparently it’s been the site of many movies that require jail-scenes, because the architechture is so typical of any jail that could have been from the 1800s to the 1920s or 60s.

Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC is absolutely gorgeous, so I was excited to see the Cathedral in Dublin! We didn’t actually get to go inside, sadly, but the outside view is almost as beautiful.

Oscar Wilde needs no introduction.

Seeing this statue was one of my most pressing desires when I got to Dublin. The whole thing just screams “I’m totally fabulous.”

Of the (coughexcessivecough) pictures I took of my trip to Ireland, I think this one was my favorite. Monasterboice (Mainistir Bhuithe) was easily the most beautiful place we visited, and this cross, the main attraction, was breathtaking. The whole place was just out of a faerietale - an ancient graveyard filled by a flock of crows, and a lightening-struck tower in the middle of it all. You couldn’t write a better story!
